The Klean Group: Industrial Delivery and Capital
Klean Group
Klean Capital is a division of the Klean Group. Klean Capital is wholly owned by Klean Industries, and that ownership is the reason a financing enquiry here is answered by people who build plants as well as fund them.
How the Group Fits Together
Most project sponsors deal with an engineering firm and a capital adviser separately, then spend months reconciling what the two of them say. Within the Klean Group those functions sit under one roof. Klean Industries carries the technology, engineering and delivery capability across waste-to-energy, resource recovery and pyrolysis-based assets. Klean Capital carries the funding mandate for clean technologies and for commercial property. A single project can therefore move from feasibility study to capital structure to turn-key construction without changing advisers at each handover.
What the Industrial Side Brings
The group's delivery record is the collateral behind the financing conversation. The project portfolio spans tire pyrolysis, recovered carbon black, plastic pyrolysis, pyrolysis oil and solid-waste energy-from-waste facilities, supported by services including feasibility studies, plant design and engineering, due diligence, energy and waste audits, and turn-key EPC (DBC) delivery.
What the Capital Side Brings
Klean Capital serves two markets: the sale and leaseback of commercial property, and the funding of new game-changing clean technologies including waste-to-energy, energy-from-waste, resource recovery, wind and solar projects. Private equity, debt, mezzanine and PPP funding are combined case by case; Private Placement Investment Grade Bonds are arranged with institutional investors where a project supports them; developers can be funded on a joint venture basis; and existing operational cleantech and waste-conversion projects are purchased through succession plans. Since 1998 Klean Capital has raised funding for over a hundred different transactions.
Why Integration Changes the Outcome
Integration shortens the distance between a technical problem and a financial answer. When diligence raises a question about mass balance, offtake quality or plant availability, it is resolved by engineers inside the group rather than by a third-party consultant on a separate timetable. That same integration is why Klean Capital will tell a sponsor early that a project is not financeable in its current form, and what would have to change for it to be.
